How tos

Sections below instruct on how to instantiate DIVA Player to make features work.

There are three feature categories:

  • Video playback: Features that are active from the video start time until the video ends. Video playback category splits into subcategories:
    • Video asset: Features that operate when a video is playing.
    • Video list: Features that operate within a list of videos that are related to the playing one.
    • Data: Features that operate when sport and entertainment data are related and synchronized to the playing video.
  • Data resiliency: WS5 and WS6 workflows covering entitlement bypass and entitlement retry after eligible fatal playback errors, plus V2/V3 entitlement version routing context.
  • Standard retry handling: 429 and 408 entitlement and heartbeat retries, plus 408 retry handling for playback/network requests such as manifests, media segments, video data, tracking URLs, and closed captions.
  • End of play: Features that operate when a playing video is near the end until the end.
  • Video asset state transition: Features that operate when a video asset transitions from scheduled to live and from live to Video On Demand (VOD).
